Mediation
A lot of people have a conflict with their partners or with members of the family which puts a strain on them. Frequently encounters end up in non-constructive disputes.
In the case of such conflicts mediation offers a framework for discussion. Mediation assists the parties involved in formulating their own interests and needs and in communicating them to their vis-à-vis. In this way the parties are able to develop their own positive solutions for the future.
In the meantime mediation has been acknowledged as a method of settling conflicts: For detailed information see the home page of Bundesvereinigung für Familienmediatoren (Federal Association of Family Mediators): www.bafm-mediation.de or the home page of Bundesverband Mediation (Federal Association of Mediation) www.bmev.de.

Legal advice / Cooperative Practice
If you intend to make use of mediation, but you still wish to be assisted by a lawyer, for some time it has been possible to approach conflicts by way of the so called “Cooperative practice” in Munich. With this method each party is represented by its lawyer who at the same time acts as mediator. In addition, a coach can be called in. For more information please click on the following link: www.cooperative-praxis.de.
Of course, we can find out personally (by phone) which option is most suitable for you.
Workshops
Conflicting parties have repeatedly stated that they might have managed without mediation, if they had previously become acquainted with the communicative methods of mediation and the basic philosophy.
Therefore, since 2003 I have offered introductory and follow-up workshops on mediation.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for further information about contents, dates and costs.

Supervision
Supervision may be useful especially for work teams.
Based on the course and the basic philosophy of mediation, Hannelore Diez developed the “mediation-analogous supervision” as it is called: Following this method of supervision first of all the participants jointly search for the resources of the team and/or the conflict situation so as to develop most wide-ranging options to act in the future.
Supervision aims at finding approaches to solving a problem which can be concretely put into practice. The method is applicable both to groups and to individuals.
“Let me have the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.”
(loosely based on F. C. Oetinger / Reinhold Niebuhr)
